In 2000, our close friend, Lisa, passed away after suffering from breast cancer. We originally bonded with Lisa and her husband in Lamaze class when Marla was pregnant with our oldest son, Harrison. In fact, our sons were born just a day apart, further solidifying our bond.
After her tragic death at the age of 32, we knew we wanted and needed to become active in supporting much-needed breast cancer research and awareness. The Susan G. Komen Foundation impressed us with their unwavering dedication and was the inspiration for our first collection.
We used this jewelry collection — which included gorgeous rings and pendants in rose gold — to raise both funds and awareness for breast cancer. This inspired us to create other, new collections in support of the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Over the years, we’ve added other great charities — such as the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale, Phoenix Children’s Hospital and Angels on Patrol, — and more limited edition collections to our product line to broaden our philanthropic reach.
